![]() ![]() She said if we returned in 30 minutes, we may be able to enter (we already didn't plan on spending any money at this horrid place but wanted to support my friend that wanted to at least get in to prove a point). It was such blatant racism and we all knew it. When we asked the hostess what specifically about her behavior made her seem drunk the hostess could not give a single reason. This was ridiculous as none of us were drinking enough to be that drunk and they singled her out specifically when we all were acting the same- something we immediately took note of. The hostess (a blonde lady with curly hair) singled my friend out and said she specifically of the group was too drunk to be let in. We all had had a few drinks but nothing crazy. She is the only POC in the group (relevant for later) and the reservation was under her name. My friend made a reservation for all of us (writing this review with her permission). If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Truly a terrible experience. ![]() I will never go back to this place and I would recommend to anyone to do so as well! Stay away from this place. The party was a joke, did not offer what was announced, was just overpriced and disappointing. ![]() When we asked where we could sit, the answer was that this was not his problem. When we sat down on the windowsill the security staff came immediately to ask us to leave. What is an Open Bar if you have to pay for some drinks anyway? A joke! In addition, there was an endless queue for the toilets and at the entire place there was not a single possibility to sit (except the toilets of course). The waiter wanted to charge us for the drinks we ordered because they were not included in the Open Bar. The next disappointment came at the bar when we found out that the announced Premium Open Bar is also a joke. It is incomprehensible why no gas heating or similar was used to warm up the rooms to an acceptable temperature. We had to spend the evening in our winter jackets and therefore party mood hardly came up. As all doors to the interior remained open the whole time, the interior was uncomfortably cold. Unfortunately, this plastic glass did not offer protection from the icy temperature that night. Too bad that this glass was dirty and steamed up, so that a view to the outside (which probably was the announced breathtaking view) was not possible. The Sky Terrace (which certainly offers a great view on warm days) was closed with a kind of plastic glass to make it wind- and weatherproof. The place is very uncomfortable and gloomy. The announced breathtaking view of the New York skyline could not be seen. The disappointment was huge as soon as we entered the venue. We visited the Magic Hour at Moxy for the New Year's Eve Party 2019. ![]() You had to go searching for them and they were hard to find. Don't be cheap next time, Moxy.Īlso, their hors d'oeuvres were like searching for chocolates laid out by the easter bunny. When you pay a premium, you expect a premium. 230 fifth) offer premium open bar with Grey Goose and other top shelf liquors. Other bars with comparable ticket prices for NYE (i.e. I would have even settled for Smirnoff and Jose Cuervo but no-name was very disappointing. It seemed evident they wanted to charge a high price and offer the lowest quality drink available. For $225 per ticket ($250 with taxes and fees) I would at minimum expect brand name liquor to be included. Premium liquor such as Ciroc or Grey Goose was regular price, $20 per drink. Basically very cheap well open bar liquor was offered. No-name, bottle of the barrel tequila, vodka, etc was the only thing included. We mostly stayed on the outdoor rooftop area due to COVID paranoia didn't have any speakers or music. Overall the music was good, decor was fun. We paid $225 plus taxes and fees each for open bar and hors d'oeuvres and were looking for a fun party to ring in the New Year. We had high expectations based on the ticket price and promotional material. We usually go to NYC for New Years Eve and decided to try Moxy for a change. ![]()
